Cradled in the foothills of the majestic Mt. Arayat in Pampanga, we found a 4-hectare private property that belongs to the family of writer, artist, and food lover Emilio Aguilar Cruz. He was fondly called “Abe” thus the name Abe’s Farm.
Abe’s Farm started as a quaint restaurant that offers authentic and traditional Kapampangan cuisine. People started to come so the farm decided to expand the facilities. Now Abe’s have function rooms for private and corporate occasions. Guests coming from outside Pampanga can now stay on different types of villas in the farm. For guests who prefers to visit in the day, a swimming pool is available, a playground for kids, and lots of areas to walk and wonder around. Abe’s Farm also offers spa and massage services.
A few steps away from the main restaurant, you will find an old 2 story ancestral home converted into a museum. This houses some of Abe’s artworks, poetry, letters, and even personal belongings. The house is beautifully restored with almost everything kept original as it is when it was built.
The main highlight of the farm is the restaurant. it’s an open air All-Filipino themed restaurant that’s built with antique wood and bamboo. It’s divided into a number of small areas that guests can go to if they want a more private dining area. It has sections that can seat at least 10 people in a round table. We also checked the attic of the restaurant which has a second floor with bamboo couches which guests can use to relax. The third level is a small space with big windows that offers a view of the entire farm.
The menu is purely Kampampangan cuisine that includes exotic entrees like kamaru (farm crickets).
Abe’s Farm is a great option for weekend getaways or private functions if you want to veer away from the usual resorts around Pampanga.
